Born in Padova, Arturo Lorenzoni is Professor of Energy Economics and Electricity Market Economics at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova. He graduated with the title of Electric Engineer, and received a PhD in Energetics.
His scientific interests range from applied economics to the energetic field, the development of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. He has taught in various post-graduate schools like Bocconi University, Venice International University, Master RIDEF del Politecnico di Milano, Energetic European Institute of Louvain and Kyoto Club.
In 2006 he co-founded M31, a venture capital firm based in Padova. In 2008 he founded Galileia Srl, a University spin-off with the aim of creating a team of young engineers to be consultants in the field of energy.
Arturo Lorenzoni has been the President of Fondazione Fontana ONLUS a nonprofit organization that works on international cooperation.
During the first half of 2017, Arturo Lorenzoni has run for election as the Mayor of Padova with the support of “Coalizione Civica per Padova” and “Lista Lorenzoni Sindaco”. At the first election he reached 22.357 votes.
From July 2017, he holds the office of Deputy Mayor of the City of Padova.
